ADM blogs

The Media Guardian is doing a live blog from the NUJ ADM in Liverpool. So are some NUJ students. If nowt else, it's a good demonstration of the much-discussed power of blog-enabled 'citizen journalism'.

Calderdale branch secretary Andrew Bibby is representing us at the conference. Let's see if he can get a mention on these.

Steve Morgan on ice

Freelance photographer and Calderdale NUJ member Steve Morgan has an exhibition opening at the Waterside Gym, Valley Road, Hebden Bridge. The exhibition, ICE, features images taken in Greenland during a Greenpeace expedition to highlight the issue of climate change.

The opening/preview, with refreshments, is at 6-8pm on Friday 10 March.

Committee and upcoming meetings

Following the AGM last week, the Calderdale NUJ committee is now as follows:

Freelance rep: Steve Morgan
Courier chapel rep: Tim Power
Other members: Mark Whitaker.

The next branch meeting in on Monday 20 March. This is an informal meeting in the bar of the White Lion, Hebden Bridge. There will be the chance to discuss motions for the NUM ADM, which are available on the national NUJ site.

And on Tuesday 9 May, we'll be holding a full branch meeting with Chris Frost, chair of NUJ Ethics Council. More details nearer the time.
